Theme 2. Education and the labor market
During a three-year period from 1967 to 1970,
while teaching at the University of Chicago, Myers carried out a study of how
Peruvian Agricultural University Graduates fit into the Peruvian labor
market. The study showed that a manpower
model of relating education to market placement would not predict the results
and highlighted the importance of social background in the process.
